INTRODUCTION

L.S. Raheja School of Architecture’s Library is a haven that enriches teaching, learning, and research experience for the students and staff. It has in excess of 6000 books, 550 e-books, several design magazines, and E-journal subscriptions on various subjects like Design, Graphics, Construction, Interiors, Landscape, Architectural Theories, and several others. The Institute takes continual efforts to keep this compilation updated and well maintained.

E-DATA BASE

The L. S. Raheja School of Architecture Library subscribes to the e-databases through the publishers. The remote access service is provided to faculty members and students to access the subscribed e-databases from outside the institute campus.

J-Gate

J-Gate is an electronic gateway to global e-journal literature. Launched in 2001 by Informatics India Limited, J-Gate provides seamless access to millions of journal articles available online offered by 14,721 Publishers. It presently has a massive database of journal literature, indexed from 66,136 e-journals with links to full text at publisher sites. J-Gate also plans to support online subscription to journals, electronic document delivery, archiving and other related services.

Charles Correa

In the last few years, the work of Charles Correa has been carefully archived in a specially created digital program that interlinks over 15,000 drawings, photos, articles, and essays. These digitized archives are advantageous to students, professionals, and faculty who would like to refer to Correa’s work for their academic assignments and architectural research.

Bloomsbury Architecture Library

The Bloomsbury Visual Arts digital hub brings Bloomsbury’s leading visual arts resources together onto one cross-searchable platform to support an interdisciplinary approach to studies, teaching, and research. Its collections have been designed to fit together seamlessly so that access to any combination of them provides a rich experience for users of all levels. They span textbooks, reference, primary material, monographs and multimedia to offer a diverse, engaging and authoritative study and research environment.

RULES & REGULATIONS

Library Rules & Regulations :

Admission to the Library :

Students are allowed into the library only on production of their authorized/valid Library Cards.

  • Enter your name and sign the register kept at the library counter.
  • A Library card is mandatory for Issuing Books.
  • No loud conversation or group discussions are allowed in the library.
  • Food & Beverages are not allowed in the library premises.
  • Do not reshelve books, periodicals, etc. Leave them on the tables properly after use.
  • Do not attempt to install any unauthorised software on the PCs.
  • Students must check the book before issuing it. If the books are damaged, they should be brought to the attention of the Library Staff.
  • If any damage is done to chairs, tables, etc. In the Library, strict action will be taken against the students, or a fine shall be levied.
  • Silence to be maintained.
  • Using mobile phones and audio instruments with or without speakers or headphones is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
  • Show the books and other materials which are being taken out of the library to the staff at the entrance counter.
  • The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
  • Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.

Books Lost :

If the books are lost, then the borrower shall replace the books of the same edition or the latest edition or pay the cost of the book plus fine (If Overdue) after getting permission from the librarian/Principal.

Loss of Cards :

Loss of borrower card should be reported to the librarian. The duplicate card may be issued against formal application and fine Rs.100/-

Validity of Cards :

Library borrower cards are valid for the same academic year only.

Care of Library Books :

Students are required to handle the books very carefully; marking with pencil, writing or highlighting, tearing the pages, or mutilating the same in any other way will be viewed very seriously. In such a case, the reader shall be held responsible unless these are brought to the notice of the library staff at the time of issue.

Reference Books :

Encyclopaedia, Dictionaries, Question Papers, and other types of Reference books, which are available for reading only in the library premises.

Periodical Section :

In these sections National & Inter National magazines are available. The previous issues are displayed on the display rack and the Current issues are arranged on the Librarian’s Counter.

Fine for late return of books for Student & Faculty :

  • Per Day 10 Rupees.
  • Fine should be paid immediately for books returned after the due date.
  • Arch., B.Voc. ID. & Govt. IDD students can borrow 1 Book only for 7 days.
  • Teaching faculty can borrow 1 Book for 15 Days.
  • Visiting faculty can borrow 1 Book for 15 Days.

Library Timing :

Monday to Saturday – 09.00 AM to 06.00 PM

Sunday – Holiday.
