Introduction

Institute has formulated Code of Conduct to promote professional behavior and academic integrity. The code of conduct shall improve overall development of students and teachers by creating an effective teaching–learning atmosphere. The students and staff are representatives of the Institute. Hence the Institute’s reputation depends on the academic and behavioral performance of the students. The Code of Conduct will foster an environment of freedom and honesty while nurturing professional ethics.

  • Classes are conducted from Monday to Friday. Lectures shall begin at 07:30 a.m. and may continue up to 02:30 p.m. or beyond. The students must maintain punctuality and adhere to their respective class Timetables and Academic schedules.
  • The Institutional working shall begin with the National Anthem being played on the Institute’s Public Address System at 7:30 am. Students and staff must maintain decorum and respect the National Anthem.
  • College premises and all classrooms shall be under CCTV surveillance at all times.
  • All students must ensure timely payment of fees for each Academic year. The fee amounts, details of transfer and the dates of payment shall be displayed on the Notice board at the beginning of each Academic year. Students who avail of Government/ Private or any other scholarships must complete necessary formalities and ensure timely payment of fees to the Institute. Any foreseen delay must be intimated in writing to the Principal. Late payment of fees may be penalized based on the number of days of delay.
  • Students shall submit documents such as the Leaving Certificate/ HSC marksheet/ SSC marksheet/ Domicile Certificate/ Birth Certificate/ Caste validity Certificate, etc. at the time of admission. The Institute shall store these documents till the completion of the course or termination of admission by the student. If the student for some reason needs the documents, he/she will have to submit a written application to the administration department at least 3 days in advance. The student shall also be responsible to resubmit the document after the requirement for the same has been satisfied.
  • Students and staff should see the notice board daily and keep themselves well informed about the various notices that may be put up there from time to time.
  • Students and staff shall make note of all the administrative and grievance redressal committees for each Academic year. Students can approach the appropriate committee representatives for specific concerns or grievances.
  • Ragging is a serious punishable offense under The Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1999 (Maharashtra Act No. 33 of 1999). Ragging is strictly prohibited in the college premises. Any student/students involved in such activities will be immediately expelled from the college. If any student/students is/are affected by the ragging in the college premises or outside of the college, He/She/They must approach relevant Authorities.
  • Students shall be allotted an Institutional email account in their First year of study with the Institute. This email id shall be valid till the completion of the course or termination of admission by the student. The Institute shall use this email address for all academic, co curricular and extracurricular communication. It will be the students’ responsibility to ensure regular access to the email account for updates.
  • Study tours/ Industrial Visits/ Site visits, field trips, etc. are a part of the syllabus and contribute greatly to the knowledge gained by the students. It is mandatory for the students to participate in the same. The Institute shall share the necessary details with the students during the course of the semester. The students must ensure payment and participation as informed by the class incharges. The Institute shall also share consent forms with the students before every visit. The form must be duly filled and signed by parents/ guardians and submitted back to the Institute before the departure for the visit.
  • The Code of Conduct for Staff and Students is also applicable when on field visits and study tours.
  • 14. All students and staff must provide details such as, and not limited to Permanent Residential address/ Emergency Contact number/ Blood group/ known medical ailments, etc at the time of admission/ appointment. It is the responsibility of each individual to update personal information from time to time while associated with the Institute.
  • 15. Any visitors or persons not directly associated with the Institute shall be allowed in the premises only after prior permissions are obtained from the concerned authorities. It will be mandatory for all visitors to complete the security formalities at the main gate of the Institute. If the mandatory procedures are not completed and a person is found guilty he/she may be subject to disciplinary action for trespassing.

All students are expected to adhere to the rules and regulations to ensure smooth working of the Institute. The students should maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning, camaraderie and professional growth. Therefore all students of B. Arch and B. Voc (Interior Design) are expected to adhere to the following code.

  • Every student must carry and wear a valid Identity Card issued by the Institute at all times in the Institute. The students must display the Identity card to the Security Personnel while entering the Institute premises and at any time by demand. The students shall maintain decorum and cooperate with the Security personnel. Any student found misbehaving shall face strict disciplinary action.
  • Every student at the beginning of each Academic Year shall share contact information for Parents/ Guardians which will include both phone numbers and email addresses. Any falsification of information shall be punishable. Parents/ Guardians shall be expected to attend Parent Teacher meetings organized at the beginning of the Academic Year. The Parents/ Guardians shall also make themselves available to discuss the academic progress of their ward as and when instructed by the Class Incharges/ Principal/ college authorities.
  • Outstation students shall share details of address and type of accommodation, contact details of the local Gaurdians in Mumbai while associated with the Institute. The students shall be responsible for updating the information from time to time. Falsification of any information shall be punishable.
  • Students shall interact with teachers and all other staff with politeness and respect.
  • For any kind of misbehavior with teachers / administrative staff or creating disturbances in the college premises/ in classroom by a student or group of students, a full range of disciplinary action will be taken against him/her/them.
  • Any misrepresentation or derogatory remarks, videos, comments, reels, posts,etc. on social media related to the Institute/ Institution name/ staff/ any event or activity organized by the Institute within and outside the premises are punishable. If found guilty the student/ students shall be penalized by the way of monetary fine/ suspension leading up to restriction depending on severity of the offense and at the discretion of the higher authorities of the Institute.
  • All students must dress appropriately to preserve and maintain the sanctity of the Institute.
  • Students may leave the premises during college hours only with prior permission of the class incharges/ subject teachers/ appropriate authority.
  • Students must inform the class incharges about absence from classes. In an event of absence for more than two consecutive days, the student must inform the class incharges through email or written communication. For medical absence, students must also submit a medical certificate issued by the consulting medical practitioner.
  • Consumption or use of Alcohol, Gutkha, Smoking, Vaping and all prohibited items is Strictly Prohibited in The Institute premises. Any student found guilty of the same shall face strict disciplinary action. If found guilty the student/ students shall be penalized by the way of monetary fine/ suspension leading up to restriction depending on severity of the offense and at the discretion of the higher authorities of the Institute.
  • Students must use the Institutional premises for educational and permitted activities only.
  • Students must use all the college property with utmost care. Any damage done to the property of the college by disfiguring walls, doors, windows, fittings, furniture and such other things is a breach of discipline of the Institute and will be considered a punishable offense. If found guilty the student/ students shall be penalized by the way of monetary fine/ suspension leading up to restriction depending on severity of the offense and at the discretion of the higher authorities of the Institute.
  • A student shall not knowingly provide false information or make misrepresentations of any manner to the Institute office. Forgery, alteration, or unauthorized possession or use of College documents, records, or instruments of identification, forged or fraudulent communications (paper or electronic mail) are prohibited and subject to disciplinary action. If found guilty the student/ students shall be penalized by the way of monetary fine/ suspension leading up to restriction depending on severity of the offense and at the discretion of the higher authorities of the Institute.

Following code of conduct/code of professional ethics for Teaching & Non Teaching Staff of L.S. Raheja School of Architecture has been guided, suggested, approved & resolved by resolution No. 01, by the Governing Body of Bombay Suburban Art and Craft Society’s L.S. Raheja School of Architecture.

  • The appointment of every staff shall be governed by terms and conditions mentioned in their appointment letters.
  • Every staff must carry and wear a valid Identity Card issued by the Institute at all times in the Institute. The staff must display the Identity card to the Security Personnel while entering the Institute premises and at any time by demand.
  • The staff of the college shall perform his/her duties efficiently and diligently to match with the teaching/ learning and administrative standards and performance norms laid down by the U.G.C/University/College /Management from time to time.
  • Update and maintain their professional knowledge & skills himself/ herself professionally for the proper discharge of duties assigned to him/her.
  • Must join/attend the duty punctually every day as per stipulated timing or as mentioned in the appointment letter.
  • Must carry out functions and administrative duties of the college and/ or the University of Mumbai as shall be required from time to time. The staff must assist
  • Maintain professional behavior and decorum while interacting with other staff or students.
  • Respect the right and dignity of the student while assisting them with any kind of help/guidance.
  • Deal justly and impartially with students regardless of their religion, caste, political, economic, social and physical characteristics.
  • Co-operate in the formulation, maintenance and implementation of policies of the Institution by accepting various responsibilities, posts and discharge responsibilities which such tasks may demand.
  • Cooperate with the authorities for the betterment of the Institution keeping in view the interest and in conformity with dignity of the profession.
  • Should adhere to the Professional Ethics and Code of Conduct of the Institution and other regulatory bodies.
  • Every employee should apply their knowledge and experience for overall development of the Institute.
  • Every employee should be fair and committed to the best interest of the college.
  • Should maintain the professional relationship with all colleagues & teaching staff and the students of the college.
  • Every employee possesses his/her identity as a Employee of the college/Institution in the society, therefore no employee should act in any manner that violates the norms of decency or morality in his/her conduct or behavior inside or outside of the College Campus, everyone should maintain the reputation, discipline & culture of the College at the public places/ in the society.
  • Any employee should not indulge in any organized anti-institutional activity and shall not promote, abet, assist or motivate any groupism or unhealthy activity.
  • Every employee should respect the functional superiority of those set in authority over him/her by the Management/Principal.

Disciplinary and administrative decisions taken by the Principal/ Management/ higher Authorities shall be final and binding to all.
