B VOC INTERIOR DESIGN PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION
Bachelor’s of Vocation in Interior Design (B Voc Interior Design or BVOC – ID) is a 3-year Full-time interior design course or degree programme conducted over 6 semesters of 16-18 weeks each. The institute follows the B Voc Interior Design syllabus prescribed by the University of Mumbai. This interior design course in Mumbai shall have a Thesis or Design Dissertation in the Fifth Semester and an Internship (Professional Training) in its Sixth semester.

ELIGIBILITY & ADMISSION GUIDELINES AND EXAMINATIONS NORMS FOR THE FIRST YEAR OF B VOC INTERIOR DESIGN
ACADEMIC SESSION 2024-25 ONWARDS
Bachelor’s of Vocation in Interior Design (B Voc Interior Design or BVOC – ID) shall be a three-year, six-semester, full-time interior design course with 30 hours of college per week. The B Voc Interior Design programme includes a Thesis or Design Dissertation in Semester 5 and Internship (professional training) in Semester 6.
The intake of the undergraduate interior design course is maximum 60 students per batch per year.
The eligibility of students for entering the first year of this interior design course shall be HSC pass from any stream (Arts/Commerce/Science) or equivalent education.
The B Voc Interior Design programme shall have a Common Entrance Exam / Aptitude test for aspiring interior design course students. The same shall be conducted by the institutions running this interior design course in Mumbai till the time the University starts conducting it.
The above-mentioned aptitude test shall be the sole criterion for admissions to the B Voc in Interior Design programme.
The University of Mumbai shall be the sole authority for admissions to the Bachelor’s of Vocation in Interior Design (B Voc Interior Design or BVOC – ID) programme. The institutions offering this interior design course shall be conducting the said aptitude test on the University’s behalf. They shall declare a provisional/final merit list for seat allotment according to merit in various categories. This shall be as per the rules and regulations that the University of Mumbai and the Government of Maharashtra have laid down. Accordingly, the colleges shall then conduct admission rounds as applicable for this interior design course in Mumbai.
Examinations for Semester-I, Semester-II, Semester-III and Semester-IV of B Voc Interior Design shall be conducted by the colleges teaching this undergraduate interior design course. They will conduct the exams for this undergraduate interior design course in Mumbai on the University’s behalf.
Examinations for Semester-V and Semester-VI of B Voc Interior Design to be conducted by the University of Mumbai as per the examination scheme prescribed in the syllabus for this undergraduate interior design course in Mumbai.
THE ELIGIBILITY NORMS FOR LATERAL ADMISSION TO THE SECOND YEAR OF B VOC INTERIOR DESIGN
For the MSBTE prescribed Government diploma holders (Part-time or Full-time) in Interior Designing & Decoration, who wish to join this interior design course in Mumbai, i.e. LATERAL ADMISSIONS:
SSC + two-year full-time or three-year part-time Govt. Diploma holders will have to take admission in the first year of this interior design course in Mumbai. They shall not be eligible for direct admission to the Second Year of the interior design course.
HSC + two-year full-time or three-year part-time Govt. Diploma holders shall be eligible to get the admission directly into the Second year of this interior design course.
Please note that the number of students for such lateral admissions into the second year shall NOT be above 10% of the total permissible intake for this interior design course in Mumbai. (Or as per Government policy / University norms, regulations.)
